The project, an investment of approximately $1.3 billion, was designed and built to expand and transform the existing Fort Lauderdale Convention Center into a major cruise ship dock within a complex boasting a wide range of amenities and services. Since the entire area is largely surrounded by sea, every excavation carried out revealed a significant presence of water.
