See allA very interesting project recently completed with the collaboration of Volteco, which saw the historic Certosa di Collegno become a headquarters for the Faculty of Educational Sciences of Turin in North-West part of Italy. A structure that had been abandoned for some time was recovered, also thanks to the waterproofing qualities of Volteco products
The watertight tank waterproofed with Volteco products guaranteed a barrier to Radon gas.
A very interesting project was recently completed in collaboration with Volteco , which saw the historic Certosa di Collegno become the headquarters of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of Turin .
The structure, dating back to 1852, originally a convent, was transformed into a psychiatric hospital towards the end of 1800 – beginning of 1900: an important mental asylum complex from an architectural point of view because it was the first in Italy to adopt the parallel arrangement of multi-storey pavilions to isolate individual pathologies. In the 80s, it was then closed and left to abandonment.
Arranging for the restoration and waterproofing of the building was not easy: the conditions of the external and internal parts of the entire structure were rather dilapidated and ghostly , having been in disuse for several years.
